NEW AT GO THERAPY!

Mental Health Services at GO Therapy

GO Therapy understands the importance of a whole person approach to mental health and wellbeing.  In fact, GO Therapy was conceptualized based on the critical need for multidisciplinary team approach.  The founders of GO therapy understand that underlying neurodevelopmental differences play a massive role and impose significant impact on individual behavior, health and wellness.

Sometimes, underlying neurodevelopmental differences (i.e. emotional regulation, sensory processing, bio/chemical, sleep, communication, eating and digestion, motor learning, etc.) result in undesirable responses, patterns or behaviors. These responses/behaviors may impact the individual’s mental health and wellbeing and/or that of the family system.

At GO Therapy we support children, families and adults in understanding the complex relationship between neurodevelopmental differences/abilities, our thoughts and behavior patterns. We challenge environmental, cultural, and societal norms for the sake of compliance and through education and connection we aim to elevate the standard of care.

  • GO Therapy uses a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach including neurodevelopmental and behavioral specialists. Our close collaboration ensures in depth screening and identification practices.  Common concerns we screen for are:

  • A psychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Evaluation involves a variety of standardized tests, interviews, and observations to evaluate an individual’s intellectual functioning, memory, attention, language, executive functioning, and other domains of cognitive functioning.

  • A diagnostic evaluation aims to identify and diagnose specific mental health conditions or disorders. Individuals and families will be supported with a clear understanding of the presenting problems and a guide to treatment planning.  Diagnostic assessments typically involve a structured interview and the administration of standardized symptom inventories or rating scales to assess the presence and severity of specific symptoms associated with various mental health conditions or disorders.

  • At GO Therapy, we specialize in pediatric neurological and behavioral development.  Our multidisciplinary team led by a licensed psychologist, will use in-depth developmental and behavioral testing to accurately assess and diagnose emotional and behavioral disturbances.    Areas of assessment may include, but are not limited to:

  • In addition to thorough assessment and diagnosis, a comprehensive treatment plan will also be established.  This will include a written report that includes current clinical symptoms and diagnosis. Children, families, and their provider will work together to identify therapeutic strategies and goals that will be meaningful in assisting the patient to improve functioning, restore/participate and find joy in as many areas of life as possible.  Individual and family therapy may include, but not limited to individual, family, and group counseling.
